My Inspiration


Hi! I'm the Barefoot Gal, and I'm a homeschooler! This blog is about my life and my experiences as a sister, daughter, friend, Christian, homeschooler, painter, baker, and so many other things. But for this post I wanted to tell you guys what made me start this blog. 

 My Mother and I were in a class about incorporating travel into your schooling, something I absolutely love doing, and we were talking about some trips we wanted to go on. Then my Mother said I should write reports about where we went or even start a blog about it. I love writing and the idea of starting a blog excited me. I had never thought before about doing one, but it really felt like something I should try.


So that very day, I started Barefoot Homeschooler! And I'm so glad I did! I've barely just started but it's already fun to do!

I chose the name Barefoot Gal because when I was little I would always be playing outside without shoes on. I don't really like wearing shoes, and I think going barefoot is more fun! And if you think being barefoot is silly, then you're right! It's silly, awesome, different, and just pain fun! And I think we all would like a little more of that in our lives.

Why did I decide to do homeschool? How long have I been homeschooled? Have I ever done public school? As a homeschooler I get these questions all the time. So, I decided to answer those questions today.  When I was younger, like second grade, I meet a girl who introduced me to homeschooling. We were both in public school at this time, but my friend only went to public school for half the day, then was homeschooled for the rest of the day. As a young child I thought that that was the coolest thing ever. So over then next year I convinced my Mother to homeschool me for my fourth grade year. That was the year I fell in love with homeschooling. Now I'm in highschool and I still love it! The flexibility and adaptability of it works well with my personality. For some people, it wouldn't end well, but for me it works perfectly. For those considering homeschooling, I'd say, give it a chance! Take a leap! The Sound of the Soul

When you hear the word music, what do you think of? Is it rock and roll or classical? Do you think of piano lessons as a kid or your favorite band? Music is an amazing thing. It can transfer emotion, bring people together, or  help you feel closer to the Lord. When I think of music, I think of calming church music, and a peaceful and joyful feeling. Music can be many things, can portray many things. It can heal broken hearts and sooth hurting souls. It can reach across across social and even language boundaries. From singing hymns at church to practicing musical instruments, music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love playing musical instruments. I've played a bit of everything, from the piano to the ukulele.  When you think of ukulele you probably think of a tropical island like Hawaii.
